Community Service
Contributions To Our Community
An essential element of our CAR Mission Statement is to advance the prosperity of our Community. In 2020, this objective was more important than ever, given the COVID-19 pandemic and its debilitating impact on so many of our Cobb County citizens, businesses, and non-profit organizations.
The Cobb Association of REALTORS®, through the efforts of our Community Outreach Committee and so many of our Members, has given back through several significant contributions.

REALTORS Fighting Hunger
10% of all citizens and 17% of children in Cobb County are food insecure, meaning that on any given day, they are uncertain if they can feed themselves or their families.
CAR Members joined the Georgia Association of REALTORS® “REALTORS® Fighting Hunger Campaign, raising $6,525 for local food banks, equivalent to over 26,000 meals for those in need.
SafePath Children’s Advocacy Center
In an emotion-filled Zoom Meeting, CAR Leadership and the GAR REALTOR Issues Action Committee (RIAC) combined their resources to present the SafePath Children’s Advocacy Center with a $3000 donation!
Our gift is in support of this organization whose mission is to reduce the trauma to children and their families by offering a comprehensive, professional, and child-friendly approach to allegations of child abuse. Click on the video and see for yourself!
Fair Housing: That’s Who We ®
The Cobb Association of REALTORS IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equality & Action) Committee produced this video, which highlights the importance of the Fair Housing Act in our industry. The Fair Housing Act has made us stronger as a profession and as individuals, and frankly, is a shining example of how everyone in this nation should treat each other regardless of who they are and what they believe.
Our thanks to all our Members who participated in this effort, in particular, Videographer Chris Lazarus, Voice-Over Artist Derek Van Dam, and scriptwriter Barry Arnold.
“Random Acts of Kindness”
With the support of the CAR Board of Directors, the CAR Community Outreach Committee, led by Chair Demetrius Lockett, embarked on a “Random Acts of Kindness” campaign designed to give back to the many generous and fearless members of our Community who have gone out of their way to serve others during these unprecedented times.
